CONCEPTUAL

-what precisely is your idea/concept/story?

-flexibility: can you jump to a new/more effective idea at this point?

-How does your project/story communicate within the context of similar work in the world?

-What research have you done on what already exists in this area? (fine art, animation, film, graphics, lieterature, novel, non-fiction) What is the DEPTH and BREADTH of your research?

-how does the idea/story/concept work within your chosen medium?

-are you hitting us over the head with the concept/story? am you communicating as an Art, or just communicating?

MECHANICAL

-have your nearly mastered the technique you are going to use? if not, don't worry we are here to help

-is your technique operating in favor of your concept?

-what is "not yet right" about the technique? what needs improvement? what does not look quite right?

-what further tools, resources do you need to gets things done?

-who can help you, what resource can you use or develop?

EXPRESSIVE

-are you using your individual strengths to your advantage?

-is this the most special expression of your communication efforts? (can you do more to express your idea?)

-is this a project in YOUR voice?

-how is it special to the way YOU deal with the material?

AESTHETIC

-how does your work approach the eye on an immediate (visual) level?

-how do forms, figures, environments enter reality? how are they rendered?, what is the look?

-what is CONSISTANT about your aethetic? what is specific about the world you are creating in terms of style?

-what is avoided, pushed away from purposely in your style? what DON'T you want aesthetically

-how is the animation, movement, direction, and timebased elements stylized?

-WHAT RESEARCH HAVE YOU DONE LOOKING AT MASTERS OF THIS STYLE?

-HAVE YOU LOOKED AT SYLES ACROSS DISCIPLINES?
